Los Angeles - Where's Spidey when she needs him?
Two burglars broke into Kirsten Dunst's New York hotel room earlier this
month and managed to abscond with a rather expensive goody bag, including
a $13,000 Balenciaga purse, an iPod and several cameras, authorities said
Friday.
A spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney's Office told E! Online
the two men were caught on security cameras leaving the Spider-Man star's
penthouse at the SoHo Grand hotel at about 5 a.m. on Aug. 9. Dunst, 25,
has been shacked up there while filming her latest movie, How to Lose
Friends and Alienate People.
Police arrested one suspect, 33-year-old Jarrod Beinerman, after he
appeared in Brooklyn Supreme Court for a hearing in a separate case. He
was arraigned Wednesday on charges of burglary in the second degree,
burglary in the third degree and grand larceny and is being held on
$50,000 bond. Detectives have not identified his accomplice, who remains
at large.
Per the criminal complaint, the perps slipped into Dunst's penthouse by
taking a guest elevator up to the floor below, then switching to a
freight elevator that offered access to the suite. They entered after
Dunst, 37-year-old costar Simon Pegg and her assistant, Liat Baruch, left
to work on location.
