well I'm pretty sure it's not going to be from a Chinese website, have you never tasted
Chinese-style western pastries (blaaaah, huuuuurl, aaaargh)

No, not western-style sweet carrot cakes.
I am actually looking for oriental style savoury carrot cakes with sausage meat, dried shrimps in
them. ;-)

Are you sure you mean carrot cake then?
Do you mean the little squares that are steamed and then fried and served at Yum Cha?
I could be wrong, but to me, your description sounds like either "Lor Bak Go" or "Wu Tuw Go" (my
own phonetic Cantonese). Both of which come from the carrot family but neither of which are
carrots.
Wu Tuw (kinda purplish grey) is yam, and Lor Bak (off white), I think is turnip - though someone
might correct me on this.
Referring to a savoury dish as 'cake' could be a bit confusing too. I've never seen a standard
translation of this dish, I think perhaps referring to it as a Yam Pattie might be a little closer
to the mark.
Sorry to say I have no recipe, but hopefully this post might get you a bit closer to what you're
looking for.

Chinese carrot cake? No way! They'd probably serve it sliced in a bowl of oil with chillies
floating in it.
You mean taro root cake, I reckon. The stuff with bacon in it, and shallow fried.
I can't access the site for some reason (it probable says the cake was invented in Taiwan or
something and is tripping the firewall) but I reckon you'll find it here :

"Carrot" cake is actually made from radish and not carrot or turnip.

A few people I know put their recipes in this discussion thread, so they've been tried and tested.
